Serving Others Worldwide Pakistan Ministry Update December 4, 2009

Welcome Christmas Walk December 1st

Praise God that He is working. I have an update from Saul regarding the Christmas program.

I am sharing with you this praise report about our Christmas walk. It had been successful. I told you in November that the police were not permitting us to have this walk. On November 30th, they changed their minds and gave us permission.

We started our walk from our colony; we have almost 500 people including children and women. Our prayer group started with praise songs in loud voices. After walking in our Christian colony streets we went into the Muslim streets and Markets. God was with us in His full power. People were singing praise songs in loud voices and there was a great noise in the happy voices during our walk. This was the song we sang in Muslim streets.

Our Lord we are coming to bow our heads before you,
We have brought our hearts to your home,
All creation of the world and Army of the Heaven
Believe you are savior and God’s beloved…..

All Muslims know what Christmas is but they don’t know why we are doing a parade. Many Muslims asked why we are so happy and we told them we are happy because God gave His beloved for our salvation. We had a great opportunity to give testimony of God’s greatest love for His people.

We have a big round about in our city. It is in the middle of Market and there are many shops where many Muslims do business. When we reached there, I read Holy Verses from Luke 2:8-14, This is story of shepherds; they were taking care of their flocks.

I was then able to peach a short message:

When angels told them about Jesus, they did not care for anything. Angels told them to go and look for the child and they left everything. Their business was to breed animals and sell them to get earning for their lives. They had many flocks but when they heard this good news they did not care for their business and families. They just ran to see Jesus. Now this is time again to see Jesus. He who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

This was my small message for all my people and Muslims, in Pakistan mostly we are not allowed to preach openly but on this day we had opportunity and we utilized it. I believe this message was heard by many Muslims who do their business in market. I believe their hearts will be touched.

We finished our walk again in our streets with prayers for our country and for your family and friends.

Please keep our other programs in your prayers and I believe God will be with us in all those programs like this “Welcome Christmas walk. “

Funding Update for the Food Drive

At this time, it looks like we have raised enough money for Saul to purchase the food gifts for the Christmas program. Those funds will be sent to him next week. Anything above the funds raised for the Christmas program will be used for warm winter clothing for poor children.

Here are some of the pictures he sent of some of the children who need clothes. You can see that most are worn out.

The “spot” on this dress is actually a hole.

This boy’s shirt has missing buttons and ripped button hole. His armpit has been sewn up.
